Mr. Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) said "Lots of customer is looking for a coming of this model. The All New Mazda3 is going to be another Mazda flagship model in Thai market which helps Mazda brand to be even stronger in passenger car segment. This new model will be local assembled at AAT plant in Thailand where is one of Mazda's key markets. AAT plant is now a production base of sports city car Mazda2 and 1-ton pickup Mazda BT-50. The All New Mazda3 is a class leading car. Its design & performance are advance and outstanding compared to today's competitors. It's going to be a strong strategic model among Mazda's product line in Thailand.
The All New Mazda3 is designed under "Center Focus Design" concept which focuses on the balance of all design elements to the center of the car. "Center Focus Design" is an initiative concept of designing Mazda concept "KIYORA". 5-Point grill form and cockpit interior design are carried over from Mazda concept "RYUGA"; the concept car that won Louis Vuitton Classic Concept Award back in 2007.
The first generation of Mazda3 was overwhelmingly successful in all markets around the world. Mazda3 was introduced for the first time in 2002 in overseas market. Total global production number since launch until January this year was 2,900,000 units. It was introduced to Thai market in late 2004. Up until now, this model was sold 28,000 units. The Mazda3 is widely accepted among Thai consumer for being "above expectation" car in term of design, performance as well as its quality.
