The highlight at this year’s Nissan booth is the Nuvu electric concept car which will be exhibited in Thailand for the the first time. Meanwhile, Nissan will also launch three new models namely the Nissan Teana, Nissan Navara and Nissan X-Trail, in order to help stimulate the Thai automobile market.
In addition, the company will also offer special sales promotions at the Motor Expo, which will be held at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Muangthong Thani, from December 1-12, 2011.
Mr. Praphat Choeychom, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales of Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said, “The flood crisis that took place in Thailand has created adverse effects on the Thai automobile industry during the past two months. However, Nissan believes that the Thai auto market still has great potential and will take a very short time to recover. There is still strong demand and purchasing power left in the market, and we can see this from the number of orders for the Nissan Almera. Only one month after its launch, almost 10,000 orders have been placed by costomers.”
“Nissan’s participation at the 29th Thailand International Motor Expo, with every model from our Thailand line-up as well as the introduction of the new models such as the Nissan Teana, Nissan Navara ans Nissan X-Tail, reflects our effort to help revive the Thai autiomobile market as well as the confirmation of Nissan’s readiness in resuming normal production for every model within the month of December. Moreover Nissan also offers special promotional compaign for various models in this Thailand International Motor Expo event” Mr. Praphat added.
This year, the theme of Nissan’s booth is inspired by the company’s promise in developing sustainable automobiles that are environmentally-friendly, he said.
“The Nuvu is an all-electric compact concept vehicle that will be displayed for the first time in Thailand at the 28th Thailand International Motor Expo,” he added.
Since the Nuvu is a purely electric vehicle, it does not produce any pollution. The solar panels shaped like tree leaves on the roof that channel the sun’s power through a “tree trunk” conduit in the center of the vehicle. Despite its compact size, the Nuvu boasts a spacious interior, while the materials used in the cabin are made from recycled and environmentally-friendly materials.
In addition, Nissan will launch three new models that are fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly.
The Nissan Teana is a luxurious midsized sedan that is developed under the philosophy of “The Perfection for All Time”. The improved Teana comes with new design both exterior and interior, as well as a higher level of luxury and sportiness. Among the new features in the Teana include the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) which dramatically improves visibility while driving at night.
The new versions of the Nissan Navara pickup, with the slogan “Tough, Powerful and Economical”, will be introduced. First is the Navara Grand Titanium, the luxury pickup that is available in both lift-up Caliber King Cab and Double Cab body styles. The appearance of the navara has been sharpened with “Grand Titanium” body kit all-round. Meanwhile, the Navara Sports Version is available in four-wheel-drive and raised two-wheel-drive Caliber styling. Highlights include a large, new V-shaped front grille, sporty front bumper and special alloy wheel design for each version.
In addition, the new Nissan X-Trail, the top-selling compact SUV in Japan for nine consecutive years, is presented under a new concept entitled “Drive a Different Life and Create an Outstanding Experience”. The new X-Trail comes with new design all-round including the front bumper, front grille, headlights, tail lights and interior design, giving this compact SUV an even stronger indentity.
The two Eco Cars from Nissan that are based on the V-Platform and are highly fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly, namely the Nissan Almera and Nissan March, will also be displayed. The Almera, Thailand’s first sedan eco car, boasts a spacious interior with surprising levels of comfort and convenience. More than 10,000 orders have been placed for the Almera since its official launch in October.
Meanwhile, the March, which was the first eco car launched in the Thailand market, is a 5-door hatchback available in two versions. The March is powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine that offers plenty of power for every type of journey. The XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) provides seamless acceleration while the Idling Stop system automatically shut off the engine when the car is stationary, resulting in a further improvement in fuel economy.
The Nissan Tiida hatchback will also be displayed at the Nissan booth. Carrying the theme “Spacious to fit all your imagination”, the new Tiida responds to the lifestyle of the new generation, and offers higher value as well as more usable interior space.
