MG6 makes its Thailand Premiere atBangkok International Motor Show 2014.
  • Bookings scheduled to be in June
SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd and MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd previews MG6 at the 35th Bangkok International Motor Show ahead of full market launch in June.

Mr. Wu Huan, president of SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd stated that; “The public debut of the MG6 here in Thailand is the opportunity for the Thai market to see the new MG6 before it arrives on Thai roads. All of the nine displayed units are locally built unit from the production facility inRayong province. Note that two of the nine display cars are dressed in a way that reflects British racing DNA, one of the brand elements, making MG world famous. Moreover, the presence of MG in this Bangkok International Motor show is a key part of MG’s celebration of its 90 years history in 2014”

MG has a proud history of success in motorsport and the latest MG6 is no exception winning races in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Therefore the cars displayed come with authentic British racing DNA and the winning spirit packed in every element of the car; from exterior dynamic design, interior design, and engineering features which we call “Brit Dynamic”

Brit Dynamiccaptures the spirit from Britain where MG research teams work together with experts from different fields to develop a European standard car with outstanding features in four key areas:
Performance delivering fast acceleration and braking with confidence.
Handling that creates superb road-holding, enhancing the grip and stability.
Design that redefines class inside and out with modern UK-Trend styling of both fastback and sports saloon
Safety Fast, a high level of Safety Systems equipped in every MG car.

The MG6 for the Thai market comes with a turbo 1.8 litre engine that can deliver maximum power output of 161Ps and maximum torque of 215 Nm. With an advancedsixspeed Dual Clutch Transmission, it is a combination that will not be easy to match.

Mr. Wu Huan stated further that: “In this Bangkok International Motor Show, we expect the customer to have the first handshake with our products as well as our brand values through the display and the ambience of our stand. Since MG has been absent from the Thai market for some time, we need to remind the Thai customer about the strong credentials of our 90 year old brand.”

“Our next steps includes finalizing product profiles to fit most to the taste of our Thai customers and the right pricing to appeal to our target groups, i.e., those who wish to differentiate themselves with the choice of car that stand for British racing tradition.”

To support the MG preview at the Motor Show, MG sales Thailand are developing the key aspects of the business to ensure that the launch of MG in Thailand will be comprehensively impeccable in all and every aspect. The dealer network comprising of around 30 dealerships nationwide is close to completion and scheduled to start their operations within the 2nd quarter this year. The partnership with a financial services provider will soon be announced officially. “These actions will ensure that MG customers will be fully satisfied with every aspect of MG brand from day one of their interaction with MG.” Mr. Wu Huan confirmed.
