Leading American leisure motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson (H-D) revved up their presence in Thailand this week with a showcase at the 38th Bangkok International Motor Show. The show comes on top of recent expansion announcements, including two new dealerships in Bangkok and Khon Kaen, as well as a new executive appointment for Harley-Davidson in Thailand.

"Southeast Asia is one of the world's fastest growing markets for Harley-Davidson, with the appetite for big motorcycles rapidly increasing across the region," said Mr. Peter Mackenzie, Managing Director of Harley-Davidson Asia Emerging Markets and China. "Since Harley-Davidson set up its first Thai dealership in 2010, to its first Thai sales office in 2016, and with new dealerships and appointments today, we have always been committed to bringing the spirit of freedom, individuality and brotherhood to riders here. We continue to strengthen our presence in Thailand by introducing unrivalled products and extraordinary experiences that appeal to a new generation of motorcycle enthusiasts."

Major highlights at the motor show included the Southeast Asian premiere of the all-new MY17 Street Rod™, a Harley-Davidson Street™ motorcycle built to meet the demands of navigating the urban landscape. Also on display was H-D's 2017 Touring line-up, powered by the new Milwaukee-Eight™ engine.

Mr. Thanabodee Kulthol (Mark), recently appointed Market Operations Lead for Harley-Davidson Thailand, explained, "Harley-Davidson has developed a real understanding of the Thailand market thanks to our expanding dealer network and over 900 Harley Owners Group (HOG) members across the country. Our new Street Rod is the ultimate upgrade for Thai riders, who can easily go from gridlock in Bangkok to exploring the countryside on a powerful yet comfortable motorcycle."

Visitors to the H-D booth this year have the opportunity to enter the 2017 Gumball 3000 Rally Competition, a chance to win the ultimate Harley-Davidson test ride. The grand prize is an all-expenses paid eight-day, 3,000 mile adventure around Europe.

The show, which runs from Wednesday, 29 March 2017 to Sunday, 9 April 2017, will host Harley-Davidson at booth number M1. This is the second time H-D Thailand has taken part in the Bangkok International Motor Show, receiving "The Best Design Award 2016" for last years' stand design.

The new Harley-Davidson Street Rod motorcycle is a muscular middle-weight built to blitz the city streets. An addition to the Harley-Davidson Street™ model family, the Street Rod is agile, powerful and tuned for maneuvering through traffic and congestion. Steeped in tough Harley-Davidson Dark Custom™ styling, bearing a stance that's poised and aggressive, the Street Rod always looks ready for action. The High-Output Revolution X™ 750 V-twin engine and refined chassis deliver more power and nimble handling. The Street Rod is going from a starting price of THB 529,000.

Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee-Eight engine, the ninth Big Twin in its history, features an all-new design for quicker throttle response, more passing power, purer sound, a smoother ride and more of the feeling riders want from a Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle. Retaining the classic 45-degree V-Twin cylinder angle, the Milwaukee-Eight engine produces 10 percent more torque and features four-valve cylinder heads that offer 50 percent more intake and exhaust flow capacity than previous year models. It minimizes primary vibration at idle and is very smooth on highway speeds, while a new heat management strategy improves rider and passenger comfort.

The Milwaukee-Eight powers Harley-Davidson's Model Year 2017 Touring motorcycle line-up, making for the most powerful, most responsive and most comfortable Touring motorcycles ever offered by Harley-Davidson.

Harley-Davidson is giving one lucky fan an all-expenses paid trip to the 2017 Gumball 3000 rally, a once in a lifetime experience to take the ultimate road trip. The Gumball 3000 is considered one of the most epic adventures of all time, a week-long festival of live music concerts, action sports and spectacular car shows in multiple cities across Europe. Winning the 2017 Gumball 3000 Rally Competition means an 8 day, 3,000 mile trip from Riga, Latvia to Mykonos, Greece. Fans can enter for a chance to ride in Gumball 3000 on a custom Harley-Davidson touring machine. Enter the competition by visiting H-D.com/Touring.

There's so much more to riding than the motorcycle itself. At the 38th Bangkok International Motor Show, visitors can also check out the extensive array of Harley-Davidson apparels and the latest Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories.
