Goodyear (Thailand) Public Company Limited recently held its 49th Annual General Meeting in Bangkok. Mr. Finbarr O'Connor, Goodyear Thailand's Managing Director, presented an overview of the key growth-oriented business highlights for 2016 and remained confident in achieving continual success for 2017.

Goodyear Thailand's constant revenue and profit growth in 2016 validates the company's investment strategy and strong focus on customer-backed innovation and marketing, sales and operational excellence. Amongst the new award-winning product launches last year was the Wrangler TripleMax, which catered to the rapidly growing SUV Range in Thailand, and was well-received by customers.

The Wrangler TripleMax was developed using an advanced version of Goodyear's proprietary HYDROGRIP Technology® that provides a superior braking performance on wet and dry roads, thus giving drivers a safer and more comfortable ride.

"We remain very proud of our ongoing achievements and growth in all our important market segments in Thailand," said O'Connor. "Looking ahead, we have built a strong foundation with these achievements. This has allowed us to execute our overriding strategy of achieving sustainable economic value, providing Thai and export-led motorists and airlines with the best, safest and most durable tires."

Towards the end of 2016, there were a total of 68 Goodyear Autocare retail stores in Thailand. Expansion of these outlets will continue in 2017 as they evolve into one-stop shops with comprehensive tire and automotive services. All of these distribution centers are staffed by qualified and well-trained technical experts, who are equipped to provide the highest levels of customer service and advice to consumers, as they continue to raise the overall standards in the industry.

"As we look towards the second half of 2017, we remain determined and confident in meeting our goals of offering value-conscious Thai drivers the best, high performance product and service portfolios in all product segments," said O'Connor.

Goodyear Thailand's growing aviation business remains a strong contributor to the company's positive business and financial performance. As the company expands its footprint in this area, it aligns with expectations that the global aviation fleet is expected to increase by 100 percent over the next twenty years with the fastest growth occurring in the Asia Pacific region.

Goodyear Thailand has received all required BOI support for its project, which was announced in 2016, to increase production of radial aviation tires at its existing factory in Pathum Thani. The first of the three-phase expansion is targeted to be operational in 2018.
