Bangkok--27 Jun--A.P. Honda

A.P. Honda Racing Thailand Team – pure-Thai blood of the Thai motorsport industry – is set to open a new chapter for the industry, with its all-Thai blood team members. The unique team consists of three racers; which are Vorapong Malahuan, Sitthisak Onchawiang, and Muklada Sarapuech – the one and only female racer from Thailand; technicians; and support officers. The team will fly to Japan to take part in Japan's significant race, Suzuka Endurance Championship, at Suzuka Circuit next month.

After having supported the Thai racers at competitions in Asian and international levels such as Asia Road Racing Championship, Moto3, and FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship, A.P. Honda Co., Ltd., this year has opened a new chapter for motorsport industry of Thailand by sending a pure-Thai racing team to take part in the "Suzuka Endurance Championship" in Japan on July 29, 2017.

"A.P. Honda Racing Thailand Team will be participating in the Suzuka 4Hours Endurance" held at Suzuka Circuit in Japan on July 2. On behalf of A.P. Honda Racing Thailand, which is also a factory team with all Thai members from racers to technicians, support staff, and coach, this will be the first time for a all-Thai members team will participate in such a prestigious competition. In most cases, a racer from a factory team will be sent to join an international team, to allow Thai members to take part in while trying to save their budget. But A.P. Honda doesn't do it that way," said Mr.Yoichi Mizutani, President of A.P. Honda Co., Ltd.

"It is said if we want to win, we need to be an expert in three areas, which are racer, efficient team, and durable vehicle. Fully combined the three factors, we will easily win the race. A.P. Honda Co., Ltd., is determined to conquer the three challenges. Our first challenge is the 4Hours Endurance Race which I would like to announce here that we will be taking up new challenges, even though it will take us years to conquer."

There are two types of Suzuka Endurance Championship; 4Hours Endurance and 8Hours Endurance races. This year, A.P. Honda Racing Thailand Team will be directed under the supervision of coach Ratthapark "Film" Wilairot, our only former international racer. The team consists of three Thai racers, which are Vorapong Malahuan, Sitthisak Onchawiang, and Muklada Sarapuech – the one and only female racer from Thailand who will be a substitute for the race. All the three racers have already gained experience from previous races.

Ratthapark Wilairot will also be taking part in the 8Hours Endurance Race under the Honda Team Asia. During the past month, the four racers, supported by A.P. Honda Co., Ltd., have participated in physical-training course, to make them physically fit for the endurance race and grab the trophy home for Thai fans.

"Suzuka Endurance Championship" will be kicking off at Suzuka Circuit in Japan on July 28 to 30. Motorsport fans in Thailand can cheer on the Thai racers and keep updated with A.P. Honda Racing Thailand Team racers at www.aphondaracingthailand.com
