"Made in Germany" is still one of the high unique characteristics customers can rely on with regard to engineering, innovation and design - in Thailand as well as in the rest of the world. The reliability and the continuous quality of products "Made in Germany" are reasons why German companies are able to export their products into the whole world and I am happy to see that Thailand also has a contribution to this success."

Increased competitiveness through advance manufacturing facilities including Industry 4.0 from Bosch

Bosch's newly established manufacturing facility consists of three focal areas. The first area consists of fuel injector lines for passenger cars, motorcycles, scooters, and power sports (i.e. boats, snow mobiles), which requires meticulous clean room technology to avoid small particles influencing the functionality of injectors. The second area is a connector production line that sees the process from plastic granulate to the inspection of the finished product complete with its own tool shop, and lastly a knock sensor production line.

The plant is also equipped with a research and development center which focuses on the development of gasoline systems products and solutions. In addition, the center offers engineering services to other Bosch locations as well as local and global customers.

Bosch is a leading player in the provision of Industry 4.0 solutions and innovations having applied this technology to connected manufacturing, and paving the way for further innovations that will drive transformation globally. The manufacturing facility in Rayong is no exception, being highly automated with connected manufacturing technologies, and incorporating proprietary Industry 4.0 solutions from Bosch.

"The opening of our new plant enables us to serve the growing base of local and

global OEM vehicle manufacturers and technologically positions us at the forefront of the industry," said Mr. Seiberth. "This is our first research and development facility in the country, thus underlining Thailand's role and strategic importance for the Bosch Group in alignment with the country's strategic direction moving towards the value-based economy".

Mr. Hayes reinforced this message concluding that, "Our investment in the country is also in support of Thailand's strong focus on promoting advanced technologies and expertise to boost the country's competitive edge in the long run. Thailand will now host the latest and one of our most modern production facilities and I am looking forward to all the innovations and developments that will come from it."
