Continental Automotive Appoints New President ASEAN

The leading technology company Continental has appointed Mr. Peter Rankl as its new President ASEAN Continental Automotive, effective June 1, 2018.

Mr. Rankl will be taking charge of the business performance as well as strategy development in Southeast Asian market with several manufacturing and R&D locations in the region. With over 10 years at Continental, he is committed to driving the company's success by bringing his experience and expertise in the area of sales, product development and strategic planning.

In addition to market responsibility, he will play a key role in meeting the company's growth goals for Chassis & Safety Division along with Business Unit Vehicle Dynamics, developing and strengthening the business while reinforcing Continental's position in the ASEAN market.

In his previous role, Mr. Rankl headed up Continental Automotive as Head of Powertrain for China and Korea including the Business Unit Engine Systems Asia in Shanghai, China. He successfully grew the business in China and implemented strategic plans for the Powertrain Division China. Prior to moving to China, he was based in Auburn Hills, Michigan in the U.S. for five years managing the Global Customer Center for Ford, Business Unit Engine Systems.

Mr. Rankl is familiar to Thailand as he was part of greenfield-team that provided support for Continental's Engine Systems Manufacturing Plant in Rayong, base in Asia for manufacturing diesel injection systems.

Prior to joining Continental, he worked at Siemens VDO wherein he was leading a customer segment within the Division Diesel Systems thereafter building up the sales department at the Key Project DIESEL.
