PETRONAS EXPERIENCE ATTRACT FANS AT THE INAUGURAL THAI MOTOGP CHAMPIONSHIP

PETRONAS, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) took to the Chang International Circuit to showcase its range of motorcycle fluids, and the flagship PETRONAS Sprinta with Ultraflex(TM) in Thailand's first MotoGP World Championship race, which took place here from 5-7 October.

As part of the company's efforts to connect with its customers in Thailand, PETRONAS presented a host of exciting activities for some 10,500 people who visited the PETRONAS booth. Visitors had a chance to participate in a 5D MotoGP experience, an PETRONAS Sprinta UltraFlex(TM) Challenge, purchase exclusive PETRONAS merchandise and win free premium giveaways.

"We are pleased to bring the PETRONAS Experience to Thailand's first MotoGP event, as this is a very important market for us our lubricants business, and PETRONAS downstream as a whole," said PETRONAS Vice President of Marketing, Downstream, Dato' Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Tahir.

Thailand is among the most vibrant motorcycle markets in Asia Pacific, which saw the introduction of PETRONAS Sprinta with Ultraflex(TM) at the Phuket Bike Week in April this year. In catering to its local customers' needs, PETRONAS operates over 800 workshops across the country and offers a complete range of products for all motorcycle types.

"Our technology differentiates us from our competitors and we leverage technology to create products that meet the needs of our OEM partners and everyday consumers. Our collaborations over the years, including in motorsports have provided us the opportunity to put our *PETRONAS Fluid Technology Solutions(TM) to test. The learnings we gain from the tracks, we translate into products developed for the road, to bring value to our customers," said PLI Head of Asia Pacific, Mohd Khalid Mohamed Latif.

The PETRONAS Experience also included a meet and greet with riders of PETRONAS' two teams – PETRONAS Sprinta Racing Moto2 and PETRONAS Sprinta Racing Moto3, who made special appearances at the booth. Next year, PETRONAS, in partnership with Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit and Yamaha Motor Co., will feature riders from the Yamaha PETRONAS Team, which will debut in the MotoGP World Championship in 2019.

The Thailand World MotoGP Championship kicks-off a series of races in the region before fans in Malaysia descend upon the Sepang International Circuit for the Malaysian MotoGP Championship on 2 Nov 2018.
