Mr. Somchai Hanjitkasem, Executive Vice President of MK Restaurants Co., Ltd., reveals that the company currently operates a chain of 300 MK Restaurants, with Central Plaza Chonburi as the location of its 300th restaurant and the latest addition to the chain. Over the years, the company has always taken account of all areas of development as a restaurant chain with the aspiration ‘MK Wishes Thais Good Health’.

“With 300 MK Restaurants under a single umbrella, well-planned operation and management are crucial to us, leading to the development of our unique standard of practice called QCQS to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. The acronym stands for ‘Quickness’ in the service, ‘Cleanliness’ of tableware and kitchenware, ‘Quality’ of raw materials under strict verification standard and process, and excellent ‘Service’ by well-trained staff,” he says.

In addition to its success in the domestic market, MK Restaurants have expanded abroad with a chain of currently 16 MK Restaurants in Japan and plans for expansion into other overseas markets. In terms of local expansion, the company plans to open 20 new restaurants in 2010.

“To mark the expansion milestone of 300th MK Restaurant, we are launching a major campaign ‘Always More Delightful at MK’ to reward our customers with blissful dining experience. The campaign integrates a series of ‘Keep Your Stomach Pleased and Hold Your Breath for Gold Prizes’ lucky draws that offers a total of 3,600 prizes worth over eight million baht. A new TV commercial is being launched under the communication concept of ‘Wishing Thailand Health and Thai People Liveliness’. In addition, the format of the cheery intra-meal dance show by MK waiters, which have received very positive feedback from customers, will also be refreshed,” Mr. Somchai continues.

He adds with a business overview of MK Restaurants, saying that the company successfully maintains its growth momentum as a result of increased revenues from recent expansions and the proactive marketing communication strategy that helped reinforce the brand image as a restaurant of choice for families and friends. This strategy was implemented in form of marketing activities and brand building, as well as seasonal campaigns during school breaks, festivals, and public holidays, for instance.

“MK Restaurants keep looking for new marketing opportunities to expand further in restaurant business based on our potential and expertise, including investment in both the home market and abroad. As for this year, we are targeting a sales growth of 5% compared to 2008,” concludes Mr. Somchai.
