HAFELE MAKES 2.76BN IN SALES IN 2012 Furthered Plan to Expand in Provincial Areas; Expect to See Up to 30% of Thai Households Owned Häfele products by AEC’s Emergence

Hafele (Thailand) Limited, one of the world’s leading furniture fittings and architectural hardware suppliers from Germany, unveils its continuous success throughout the year 2012 with sales reaching 2.76 billion baht at the end of the year. The company is then ready to further its plan to expand consumer base to provincial areas, particularly through an opening of its new distribution center in Chiang Mai. The company expects to see up to 30% of Thai households owned Häfele products before the emergence of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

Mr. Rattana Poonsanga, Sales Director of Häfele (Thailand) Limited, said “In 2012, Häfele has achieved 2.76 billion baht in sales, a 19% increase (or 443 million baht more) from last year. This was a result from continuous expansion of real estate market that includes houses, townhouses, townhomes and condominiums in Bangkok and surrounding provinces as well as key cities in other regions like Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen and Phuket. It was also a result from the government’s first-home policy and an impact from the huge flood that encouraged consumers to reconstruct and rebuild their damaged homes. Consumers, therefore, came out to buy home decoration products and new furniture throughout the year. We have seen that consumers in both B2B and B2C segment all try to find high quality products that respond well to their needs in terms of functional use, design and their lifestyle. And Häfele is a reliable choice for them as we have a wide range of products to respond to all of their needs. Thus, our sales in 2012 have been increased continuously and reflected a better result than what we have expected.”

For 2013, Häfele plans to market through both B2B and B2C segment. In B2B, we continue to be a leader in the segment as most of our customers are top leaders in the industry like King Power, Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket, Hilton Pattaya, Evason Hua Hin and The River, just to name a few. We focus on offering clients with high standard and good quality products in affordable prices. Main products for this segment include hardware, key locks, sanitary ware and electronic hardware. As for B2C segment, Häfele continues to target on modern consumers offering them with products that come with great functional us, innovative technology and unique design. This is not to mention about our best-in-class services right from the shopping point and how we manage fast delivery for them to caring after sale services. Products offering for this segment are DIY hardware products such as doorknob and handles and electronic locks which can be opened with card or fingerprint sensor.

“In 2013, Häfele will continue to expand its consumer base to cope with the expansion of real estate market especially condominiums which tend to grow enormously this year in Bangkok and other key cities like Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai and Phuket. In addition, Häfele plans to open our fourth distribution center in Chiang Mai in June, following the opening of our third one in Khon Kaen last year. The new distribution center will help better our service and strengthen our business before the emergence of AEC in 2015. We also expect to see up to 30% of Thai households having Häfele products in their homes as we are confident in its quality, design and function. With all strategies that we have planned for this year, Häfele expects to gain a 15% increase in sales by the end of the year,” added Mr.Rattana.
