A wide range of activities have been organized to encourage children and youths to exhibit their abilities and stay healthy. In addition, a ‘Campus Zone’ has been set within the shopping complex as a place for the young people to show off their talents though a wide range of activities organized.
“We are also organizing the Future Junior Talent Award project, which is a singing and dancing contest open for children aged between 8 and 12. Comprising of Thai contemporary songs and Thai country songs categories, this is a contest for the prestigious trophies of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The project has enjoyed very good feedback from the public over its five consecutive years of organization, reflected in the rising number of contestant teams. The contest this year is participated by some 200 teams, divided into 100 teams in Thai contemporary songs and 100 teams in Thai Country songs. The contest has started since June and is due to be completed in October. Held under the theme ‘Youthful Exuberance to Rejoice the Honors of HM The King’, the finalist teams are required to sing one song from the royal collection of HM The King’s compositions in order to resonate His musical talent,” says Mrs. Ratana.
In the final round, each of the 10 finalist teams — 5 from Thai contemporary songs category and 5 from Thai country songs category — will sing one song from the HM The King’s collection and another song of own choice. The decision will be based on three main elements of the performance: singing ability (35%), dancing/performing ability (30%), and team harmony (35%).
As for the prizes, the winning team from each category will be awarded the honorable trophy of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Bt30,000 scholarship. The first runners-up will receive plate of honor and Bt20,000 scholarship while the second runners-up will be given plate of honor and Bt10,000 scholarship. In addition, there will also be the best singer prizes and honorable mentions. The prizes are worth totally over Bt1 million.
“The Future Junior Talent Award project is another public arena for children and youths to demonstrate their singing talent, and the contest can even be a door to their stardom. This year, the contest has captured the interest of many young people, and we have to admit that all of them are surprisingly creative and talented. Every team has performed impressively, and today, the new stars will be discovered and they will shine brilliantly in the Thai music circle,” Mrs. Ratana adds.
