Presented by CJ Entertainment, Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) is Asia's biggest music awards ceremony with the brightest stars and artists in music. Acclaimed by fans around the world for its advanced stage production and mega-scale performances, it has also been instrumental in introducing the latest K-pop trends and Korea's high-end production system to global audiences. MAMA's origin traces back to 1999 which was then called the Mnet Music Video Daesang, later rebranded and renamed to Mnet Asian Music Awards. Its Asian tour was first launched in Macau, followed by 2011 MAMA in Singapore. MAMA has been held in Hong Kong since 2012, highlighting the event's pan-Asian popularity. Not only has MAMA become a significant year-end music awards ceremony, it has developed into an extravagant international music event. It has also simultaneously created an international communication/crossover network for music exchange which made MAMA gained recognition in Asia's music industry and its communication network.
