In response to the warm welcome received for Sri Kreetha and Siam sites, JWD is taking steps to expand the business of providing self-storage solutions that offer private and secure storage spaces, looking to open two more sites at Thian Ruan Mit and Ram Inthra. It seeks to open more sites every year, increase the total space to more than 20,000sq.m. by 2022 and secure market leadership. Phase 2 of Siam site will be launched to provide safe boxes for rent that satisfy international standards and are equipped with a modern security system.

Mr Charvanin Bunditkitsada, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JWD InfoLogistics Public Company Limited (JWD), an ASEAN top logistics and supply chain solution, revealed that, given the warm welcome received for the first site at Sri Kreetha (Krungthep Kreetha Road), with an occupancy ratio of greater than 90%, and for the second site at Siam (Zy Walk), with an occupancy ratio of more than 70% and a plan to launch a new phase, JWD is working to expand its self-storage operations under the name JWD Store It! by increasing the space available for the modern generation who live in housing/condominium units with limited space and need rental storage space that is separate from their living space.

In the last quarter of this year, JWD will open two more JWD Store It! sites, i.e. Thian Ruam Mit (total rental space at THB 2,000sq.m.) and Ram Inthra (total rental space at 1,800sq.m.), which will increase the service areas covered, particularly in Ratchadaphisek, Huai Khwang, Rama IX, Ekkamai-Ram Inthra and Kaset-Nawamin, and attract the interest of the dwellers and the SME and e-commerce operators who require storage space that meet the applicable standards and offer a high security level and 24-hour accessibility. It will benefit from the know-hows of Store It Management, its Singapore partner.

"We believe that self-storage is a promising business. It is present and thriving in several major cities and countries (Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, etc.) We will open a few more sites every year, especially in the densely populated inner areas of Bangkok (Yaowarat, Sathorn, etc.) We look to maintain our service sites in all areas of the capital city in order to increase the total service area for the self-storage segment to more than 20,000sq.m. by 2022 and make us become the market leader", said he.

The CEO added that apart from opening new sites, JWD will offer new solutions that will meet users' demands, including launching in September the second phase of the Siam site of JWD Store It! that will provide more than 2,000 safe boxes for rent primarily to those seeking space for storing valuables, as safe boxes are currently not sufficiently supplied at banks. For the safe box service, the company will satisfy International Vault Standard Class A, with reinforced concrete walls, a fire prevention system and a state-of-the-art security system that will employ biometric scanning equipment (for fingerprint and face), SECOM's anti-trespass tools and G4S's security guards on a 24-hour basis. The service is expected to attract healthy interest from the people living nearby.
