Nitin Darbari, Procter & Gamble Thailand General Manager and Vice President said, “For over 30 years, we have continued our commitment of partnering with the Thai government to develop the economy by helping our wholesaler and retailer partners grow their businesses. We are excited to partner again with the Ministry of Commerce as part of our long-term commitment towards Thailand 4.0. In the past two years, we have co-hosted with MOC the annual Thailand Wholesale and Retail 4.0 Business Conference catering to 250 Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). This year we recognize the economic impact of the pandemic on small retailers, and diverted our support towards them as they recover from this crisis.”

“All of us have to step up in these challenging times. At P&G, we aim to support the government and our customers who are financially affected by the pandemic. We would like to support small retailers who are experiencing financial losses brought about by the crisis. We are grateful for our continued partnership with the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) for enabling us to help and give back to our customers who have always been there for us.” added Darbari.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 outbreak, P&G has stepped up its commitment to be a force for good and we have been working with long-standing partner organizations to provide support to communities, relief agencies and people impacted by this extraordinary situation across the globe.

To date, P&G and its brands have made or have committed to make in-kind product and monetary donations collectively valued at more than US $15 million around the world. These donations will provide financial support, hygiene education and vital medical equipment and products for those most vulnerable and for individuals assisting those who are impacted by Covid-19. The multinational company also mobilized the full capabilities of P&G production for hand sanitizer and face masks to support hospitals, health authorities, and relief organizations, as well as its employees around the world, all of whom are working at the front of the Covid-19 response.

In Thailand, P&G continues to run its operations to ensure the supply of its essential products to its consumers and customers at this challenging time. “P&G and our employees are working hard to continue making our personal care, health and hygiene brands like Downy, Head & Shoulders, Vicks, Whisper and Gillette available to our Thai consumers to help them sustain a healthy living and clean environment especially in this time when personal and household hygiene are important. Our Thailand Plant has also started manufacturing our best anti-bacterial soap, Safeguard, during this extremely critical time. Safeguard has always been an advocate on the importance of handwashing for health and safety purposes. We understand that this is much more relevant and needed now, as we are all urged to wash our hands frequently to stop the spread of Covid-19.” added Darbari.

During this unprecedented time, P&G is also committed in lifting the spirits of the Thai community. Together with L’Officiel Thailand and What The Duck record label, the multinational company co-produced a special music video “Distancing for Love” with well-known singer Singto Numchok, inviting top celebrities who are P&G’s brand ambassadors including Chompoo Araya, Yaya Urassaya, Mario Maurer, Janie, James Jirayu, Taew Nattapon, Stamp Apiwat, and Aey Pornthip to join in the music video to spread the love through this inspiring song.

“In this challenging time, we need to support each other so we can come out of this crisis even stronger. As P&G continues to be a force for good, we will continue to give back to the Thai community through our donation of PPEs to medical frontliners in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, our donation of products to small retailers in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, and through a simple gift of music to bring a smile on people’s faces. We will continue to stand strong with the whole country.” concluded Darbari.
