KTC transforms challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic into opportunities by adjusting its tourism business strategy in full force. Adjustments started with a revamp of its “KTC World Travel Service,” a full-service travel and tourism center for KTC credit cardmembers, following three core values: “Make Better,” “Create,” and “Support”. KTC joins hands with alliances in the tourism business to provide cardmembers more convenient and at ease travel and tourism trips. Miss Janejit Ladpli, Vice President – Travel and Leisure Marketing, “KTC” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, states, “The COVID-19 pandemic crisis has caused a significant impact on the global tourism business as well as on the KTC credit card in terms of its overall tourism business. KTC has to adjust and adopt a new tactic for its tourism business strategy to conform to the new normal lifestyle. This includes adjustments to the operations of KTC World Travel Service, a travel and tourism center for KTC credit cardmembers offering full-scale domestic and international tourism services, following three core values: “Make Better,” “Create,” and “Support”, to better understand the behaviours of cardmembers’ who spend with a credit card for travel and tourism services, and to encourage employees to work more efficiently.”

“For this reason, KTC World began by exploring its services to identify the areas that needed to “Make Better.” This was done with a study by prioritizing cardmembers’ needs, and developing the capacity of travel counsellors, including the study of customer service techniques that are enhanced with technology. This covers the accommodation booking system, flight ticket booking via a computerised global distribution system, and developments to the customer relationship management system with a goal to achieve service excellence. What cardmembers need are quick access to service and help, and the ability to contact employees around the clock to make reservations for flights and other services. As a result, KTC World decided to “Create” tourism services that operate on a 24 hours basis for members’ convenience. KTC World is a hub that assembles tourism products and services together, and is a platform that establishes distribution channels with tourism business partners for KTC credit cardmembers.”

“During the current economic situation that has impacted business operations, most significantly the tourism business which took a big hit, KTC joined forces with 4 alliances, including The Association of Domestic Travel (Adt.), Local Alike, Thai Boutique Accommodation Trade Association, and Hotel Tranz, in jointly coming up with solutions for tourism business operations during the new normal state and to encourage Thais to travel in Thailand. KTC organised a special session under the topic of, 'Weathering the Storm of the Thai Tourism Business After Set Zero’ to provide support and help to tourism business alliances to get through this crisis together.”
