This collaboration is the third time that SET and financial institutions have joined forces to empower bank personnel so that they can more effectively fill customers’ needs for various investment alternatives. The project is a part of our strategies to build strong capital market foundation by enhancing investors’ knowledge through commercial banks, revealed SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira.
“Working with the Thanachart Group, which is a strong financial institution with an extended customer base, will help SET promote personal finance literacy to a wider target. Meanwhile, Thanachart Group will benefit from having personnel with more sophisticated expertise in wealth management and alternative investment, creating value-added service for the Group,” said Mr. Charamporn.
“This project will help fulfill Thanachart’s vision since we have always focused on providing a complete set of financial services to meet customers’ financial needs. Thus, we place importance on enhancing bank personnel to be financial advisors in Personal Wealth Management for customers. The project will add value for existing customers and help expand Thanachart’s customer base,” said Thanachart Bank PCL Senior Executive Vice President Somjate Moosirilert.
SET will train Thanachart Bank PCL’s branch managers in Q3/2010 and Q4/2010, aiming to produce 500 financial professionals and 50 trainers to be important players in educating other bank staffs and bank customers about personal finance. Thanachart Securities Co., Ltd. and Thanachart Fund Management Co., Ltd. will together give knowledge on financial products.
Previously, SET and Thanachart Group cooperated to develop investment services in numerous projects, including Thanachart Prestige Financial Planner, Wealth Society, Star Marketing, and SET Click2WIN. Both organizations work together to help the general public become prudent investors, benefiting both themselves and the country.
