TFEX Managing Director Rinjai Chakornpipat said, “TFEX plans to enhance liquidity of existing products, starting from SET50 Options which can be used as a strategic investment or risk management tool. As such, we have appointed five market makers to provide liquidity for SET50 Options and boost investors’ confidence by offering buying and selling on a continuous basis. “TFEX has adjusted contracts specifications of SET50 Options to better accommodate investors convenience by reducing the number of contracts and aligning with SET50 Futures. In 2014 the total trading of SET50 Options reached 108,855 contracts, or 444 contracts per day, a jump of 66 percent from a year earlier. As, the trading volume of SET50 Options accounted for 0.3 percent of the total TFEX’s volume, we believe that those initiatives of increasing number of market makers, developing tools likes Options Wizard and providing investors knowledge will increase SET50 Options popularity as adopting global success models,” added Rinjai.
