Visa launched a new campaign to boost card usage and acceptance points in the booming Northeastern region of Thailand, prompted by the increasing economic growth beyond Greater Bangkok.

The campaign aims to encourage more consumers to use their Visa cards for their everyday purchases instead of cash.

“As the Thai government steers the country towards a digital economy, Visa can play a role in providing simple, safe and convenient electronic transactions for the people of Isaan,” said Somboon Krobteeranon, Visa Country Manager, Thailand.

Visa’s campaign to promote card usage, special to Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen and Udon Thani provinces, runs from today until August 31. For every 100-Baht purchase at participating merchants, Visa cardholders have the chance to enter to win gift vouchers worth 5,000 Baht, Honda motorcycles and a Toyota Vios car[1].
