Placing emphasis on its "Green DNA" resolution, KASIKORNBANK enters the second year of its program of good deeds carried out by its employees, the "50,000 Chuamong Tham Di Tham Dai" project, allowing staff to take one day off each year to participate in voluntary activities, which will not be counted as a leave. Total target hours under this project have been increased from 20,000 to 50,000 this year, and 150,000 within 2018. Under this project, financial sustainability is highlighted, with financial knowledge provided to youth and the general public nationwide.

According to Dr. Adit Laixuthai, KBank Corporate Secretary and Senior Executive Vice President, KBank aims to build its corporate culture within the concept of sustainable development, entitled "Green DNA", and embed it in the collective conscience of 34,000 staff members under KBank, K Companies, the Support Service Providers to KBank and KASIKORN BUSINESS-TECHNOLOGY GROUP (KBTG). Therefore, this concept will be integral to every single business process, thus upholding sustainability for the Bank, society and the nation as a whole. In 2016, KBank became the first financial institution to launch such a program, allowing its employees to take one day off a year to take part in voluntary activities, which is not counted as a leave. This project saw tremendous support from some 7,900 staff members, boosting the total hours of good deeds to 42,200, more than double the target of 20,000, plus 9,200 additional hours of voluntary activities undertaken by more than 2,000 invited outsiders.

To this end, KBank continues this project in 2017 with the ambitious target of more hours than last year, under the "50,000 Chuamong Tham Di Tham Dai" project, while voluntary activities for a sustainable society and environment are maintained. Sponsored by KBank at 5,000 Baht per activity, these activities must promote financial knowledge, savings/spending discipline, making extra income and secure financial transactions among youth and the general public. The move exhibits KBank's commitment to strengthening financial sustainability in all segments of society, thereby leading to the country's economic stability.

Dr. Adit added that KBank aims to achieve sustainable development under three fronts: the economy, for stable and healthy economic growth; the society, for the well-being of employees and communities; and the environment, for striking a balance towards leaving a sustainable environment for the next generation. Examples of these projects include the "Pho Phan Panya Kamp" (Cultivation of Wisdom Camp), AFTERCLASS, Bachelor's Degree Scholarships for Nan Youths in Honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, "Rak Pa Nan" (Care for Nan Forest), KBank Officers Caring for Bangkok's Green Lung project, and the "50,000 Chuamong Tham Di Tham Dai" project. Many employees are expected to volunteer for the new project, as the Bank aims to advance total hours under this initiative to 150,000 within 2018.
