EXIM Thailand Organized a CSR Project to Give Scholarships to Needy Children and Youth with Good Conduct and Academic Records

Mr. Pisit Serewiwattana, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), stated that EXIM Thailand has launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project titled "Caring for the Community" under the concept of "Education in the Footsteps of the Father King" to carry forward the precious legacy of His Majesty King Bhimibol Adulyadej in promoting education for children and youth. In 2017 which is the first year of the scheme, EXIM Thailand has provided scholarships to needy school children and youth who have good behavior and educational performance in the country's four regions, i.e. northern, southern, northeastern and eastern regions. The scholarships are categorized into three levels, comprising 1. elementary level: 60 scholarships worth 10,000 baht each, totaling 600,000 baht; 2. secondary and vocational level: 40 scholarships of 15,000 baht each, totaling 600,000 baht; and 3. university and higher vocational level: 20 scholarships of 20,000 baht, totaling 400,000 baht. This makes up a total of 120 scholarships amounting to 1.6 million baht.

"EXIM Thailand has launched the 'Caring for the Community' scheme starting from remote areas in provinces to provide opportunities for needy children and youth to continuingly pursue their education while relieving burden on their parents, emphasizing the adherence of moral principles, conduct of good deeds, and responsibility for themselves, their families and the society," added Mr. Pisit.
