SET announces 71 firms, eight CEOs nominated for SET Awards 2017

71 firms and eight CEOs have been nominated for SET Awards 2017. The winners of 22 awards will be announced on November 28 at a special event in Bangkok.

SET President Kesara Manchusree stated that the SET Awards event, organized for the 14th time this year, aims to honor listed companies, securities companies, asset management companies, financial advisor and chief executives in the Thai capital market with outstanding performance in various fields, reflecting capabilities of the business sector in developing the Thai capital market.

""The SET Awards help motivate listed firms to raise the standard of operation and enhance performance potential. It also reflects many ideal business models, while being well-accepted qualitywise. Amid the highly competitive environment and in digital era, businesses need to adopt innovation to gain competitive advantages in order to sustain in the long run. The awards has also encouraged business sector for their business development commitment. This year nominees have distinguished achievements in their own fields covering leadership, business operation, corporate governance, investor relations, innovation and sustainable business management aspects, added Kesara.

Santi Viriyarungsarit, Editor-in-Chief of Money & Banking Magazine, the SET Awards co-host, and one of the distinguished judges for the SET Awards 2017 said SET Awards aims to honor and reward individuals and organizations in the capital market with outstanding achievements. It is significant that this year's awards include several first-time nominees which is confirming their focuses on operating business with quality. In addition, the three new categories of awards which have been added last year namely Best Innovative Company Award, Best Deal of the Year Award, and Young Rising Star CEO Award are among thehighlights of the event.

The committee of experts judging SET Awards 2017 includes Panas Simasathien, Maruey Phadoongsidhi, Seri Chintanaseri, Santi Viriyarungsarit, Yuth Vorachattarn, Patareeya Benjapolchai, Kesara Manchusree, and Santi Kiranand.

The SET Awards 2017 are grouped into seven categories: 1) Best CEO Awards and the Young Rising Star CEO Award; 2) Best Company Performance Awards; 3) Best Investor Relations Awards; 4) Best Innovative Company Awards; 5) Best SecuritiesCompany Awards; 6) Best Asset Management Company Award; and 7) Best Deal of the Year Award.
