Fleet of Classic Cars from the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong Enjoys Shangri-La’s Natural Beauty

A fleet of vintage cars from the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong began their journey to Shangri-La. The motorists were amazed by the iconic landscape of undulating mountains, hills, and grassland which is also the place where villagers feed their local livestock such as yaks, black pigs, and sheep as well as a home to the variety of birds and wild ducks.

The classic cars began their journey on November 22nd along the road which is surrounded by mountains covered in fall foliage as they got a warm welcome from Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and the city of Lijiang, Yunnan Province. The event was hosted by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People's Government of Yunnan Province and the Yunnan Overseas Friendship Association, along with the sponsorship by the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong and Yunnan Business Office in Hong Kong. The trip was undertaken by Xinhua Finance Agency.

The fleet has stopped by and explored many different scenic spots including the grassland with mountains in the background, natural water, and the unique Tibetan houses.

The motorists, along with the journalists from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Thailand, also visited the Shangri-La Alpine Botanical Garden. The garden is well-known for the medicinal plants propagation, the herbal medicines production, as well as an important knowledge resource of Lijiang. It also has become a place of interest that has gained more attention from tourists.
