SET President Kesara Manchusree said that the SET Awards, which has been organized for 15 years this year, aims to recognize individuals and organizations in the Thai capital market for their outstanding performances in various fields. To-date, a list of preliminary nominees comprising of 584 SET-listed companies in five categories and mai-listed companies in one category, based on their market capitalizations, have passed the first stage of screening. In addition to the market cap criteria that intended to allow large, medium and small listed companies the opportunity to showcase their potential, this year we have added a criteria on quality, reflecting our today's more stringent quality standards.
Santi Viriyarungsarit, Editor-in-Chief of Money & Banking Magazine, the SET Awards co-host and one of the distinguished judges for the SET Awards 2018, said that the event has been successful all along and the awards in particular have gained increasing respects from all individuals and parties in the capital market. In 2018, the SET Awards' working committee continues to place emphasis on innovation by encouraging listed companies, securities companies and asset management companies to focus more on the innovative development and management corresponding to Thailand's economic development strategy, while initiating new industries and services that will be essential for the long-term development of the country.
The SET Awards 2018's awards are grouped into seven categories, consisting of 1) Best CEO Awards and the Young Rising Star CEO Award; 2) Best Company Performance Awards; 3) Best Investor Relations Awards; 4) Best Securities Company Awards; 5) Best Asset Management Company Award; 6) Best Innovative Company Awards; and 7) Best Deal of the Year Award. There will also be the SET Awards of Honor for individuals or companies that have consistently kept up their outstanding performance in respective fields.
