Bangkok--5 Jul--KASIKORNBANK

Chulalongkorn University, together with Kasikorn Bank, has launched CU NEX, a mobile application that brings together all aspects of life on the campus in one place for students, professors and university staff while also continuing the university's drive to become the leading academic institution in embracing the digital campus lifestyle. Digital innovations are being applied to optimize teaching and learning processes, develop a more established body of knowledge, and enhance the on-campus experience to achieve better quality life for students in the digital age.

Professor Dr. Bundhit Eua-apporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, stated, "As a leading university in Thailand on a mission to develop young talent for national development, Chulalongkorn University sees the importance of pushing the university to the forefront of the world. For this reason, we have sought out partnership with a leading player in digital technology in Thailand to support us in this transitional period towards what we call 'Chula New Era.' With the technological capabilities of Kasikorn Bank, we have created the 'CU NEX' application to optimize the efficiency of students' on-campus life. We believe this will transform us into Thailand's leading university in facilitating the digital lifestyle."

Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya, President of Kasikorn Bank, said "In the digital age where the banking business is rapidly changing, Kasikorn Bank sees the importance of creating services and innovations for the future. We aim to serve "Beyond Banking" to seamlessly fulfill customers' needs, and we have combined our expertise in digital technology, innovations, solutions and data-driven insights to develop a one-stop service that serves as the "Life Platform of Choices" for our customers. We are very excited to play a role in supporting Chulalongkorn University, a partner who shares our vision in embracing the digital lifestyle, to strongly move forward into the digital age. Under our official partnership in digital technology, Kasikorn Bank will be supporting Chulalongkorn University with our most cutting-edge technologies to create solutions that increase management efficiency, enhance the digital knowledge base available to students and staff alike, and create an environment that facilitates the experience of learning and living in the digital age."

"Our initiative to drive Chulalongkorn University to a new era of education through technology focuses on three main aspects: (1) bringing together every aspect of students' campus life (2) developing the potential of students and staff to prepare them for the digital age and (3) improving the utilization of information. The CU NEX application will support every aspect of student life on campus, allowing them to utilize digital technology in realizing their all-round potential," Professor Dr. Bundhit Eua-apporn added.

Every aspect of a student's life will be digitally connected even before they begin their trip to the university. They can check their class schedules and classrooms or discover e-books they are interested in from the CU Book Center to prepare before class. Upon arrival at the university, they can even check the bus schedule, status and location on campus to effortlessly plan their route to different areas of the campus and nearby locations. They can also search for books from all libraries on campus very quickly or work on group projects at PLEARN Space, the digital learning playground that will widen their horizons. After class, students can enjoy their campus life by booking any activities they are interested in, reserving space for their own activities, and living a safe and carefree lifestyle on campus with the in-app SOS function.

"In the future, the CU NEX application will continue to integrate further digital technologies that allow it to more efficiently utilize data in various aspects. This includes building a Data Hub that uses Machine Learning to study students' behavior before applying Business Intelligence (BI) to analyze the information for the development of curriculum and activities that further build upon the students' potential. Meanwhile, important university documents will be managed using blockchain technology in a move that represents full utilization of digital innovations. These are all examples of how we are taking full advantage of digital technology to best support the learning culture of the digital generation. This allows students to fully embrace the campus life and contribute to Chulalongkorn University's progress towards becoming the leader in digital campus lifestyle in Thailand," Professor Dr. Bundhit Eua-apporn concluded.
