The Stock Exchange of Thailand, jointly with the College of Music, Mahidol University, organizes the 22nd SET Youth Music Competition 2019. The annual contest opens opportunities for youth musicians all over the country to showcase their unique talents and win prizes worth a total of over THB 1.8 million (approx. USD 58,000).

SET Executive Vice President Noppakao Sucharitakul said that SET has enhanced youths' capabilities in various fields including sports and music so they can showcase their talents, ability and creativity constructively. SET Youth Music Competition is a stage for young musician talents to perform while being a springboard for the winners to level up in international arenas. Significantly, this year we have teamed up with musical network nationwide to reach out to more musical talents in regional areas. We will make the contest more accessible to youth by promoting via digital media channels. All these efforts are in line with SET's vision of "To Make the Capital Market 'Work' for Everyone".

Narong Prangcharoen, Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University said that music is an art form that permeates all of us in the society. The emotional expression has to combine with and grow together with the physical well-being. The contestants will gain experience as a significant chapter in their life for further development whether or not they win the title. In addition, the highlight of this year's competition is the audience's involvement. The popular vote will also be calculated. Furthermore, this year will beattended by students with disabilities and the elderly from various nursing homes, aiming at enhancing equal opportunity and inspiration for all in the society, in line with SET's contribution to social impact activities that will help better the quality of living and the Thai society as a whole.

The SET Youth Music Competition has been held consecutively during the past 21 years. More than 10,000 young musical contestants have submitted their works and performed on the national stage.
