Following a two-year collaboration with leading children hospitals in Japan and United States, the volume of both domestic and foreign patients has increased exponentially. As a result, Samitivej Children's Hospital (Sukhumvit Campus) is unveiling a 2,000 square meter expansion of our current hospital capacity.

The space of our clinical areas have been expanded and designed for functionality and ease of treatment access. Creating areas that separate those affected by contagious conditions, the spread of infections is vastly minimized. With a pastel palette and a sky theme, this hospital strives to create a friendly, soothing environment for children.

After registering at the main counter, a nurse will tell you which aisle you need to follow:

The left aisle: Sick Baby Zone

Save time and receive prompt medical treatment – the semi-sterilized procedure room is now located inside this zone and we are able to provide patients with simple procedures such as small wounds and cuts, removing the need for the patient to relocate to an operating room.

Minimize the risk of emergency outbreak – the spread of infectious diseases can be prevented through the use of the two negative pressure rooms (Isolation rooms) – facilities that are unique to Samitivej Children's Hospital.

Reduce patients' waiting time – patients who need to be transferred or admitted can now have bedrest in an observation room and receive medical care, as needed.

Allergy Immunotherapy treatment – our allergists at the Pediatric Allergy Center have been working to developing allergy immunotherapy in conjunction with Takatsuki General Hospital, through a medical collaboration program; this integrated approach is the goal of our collaboration.

The center aisle: Well Baby Zone

A "Well Baby" area for healthy children includes the Pediatric Vaccination Clinic, the Lactation Clinic, the Pediatric Gastrointestinal and Liver Center and the Growth and Endocrine Clinic.

One-stop service to support breastfeeding – as a mother and baby-friendly hospital, Samitivej is determined to provide as many resources to the mother as possible. The Lactation Clinic and Baby Station in the Well Baby Zone is led by a team of neonatologists, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and lactation nurses.

Provide root-cause analysis and solutions for GI disorders – full screening tests and treatment (including patient consultation and a potty training room) are now offered inside the Pediatric Gastrointestinal and Liver Center.

The right aisle: A new "Special Child" area focusing solely on child development and special needs

The facilities within the "Special Child" area were created to accommodate occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, early intervention and speech therapy, all of which are administered by highly trained specialists and special educators. This area facilitates the specialists in creating tailor-made activities for each child. An example of this is the one-way mirror room where parents can discreetly observe special teaching methods to later be used at home.
