Based on the evaluation received from the judging panel, the Woman in Leadership (WIL) Forum Asia has announced in its annual conference and awards ceremony on February 22 — 23, 2011, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Forum’s decision to entitle Ms. Yang Mian Mian, The President of Haier Group Co., Ltd. as Asia’s Most Innovative Woman Entrepreneur of the year 2010. The award honors the leading female entrepreneur who has established an innovative business entity, product or service with strong business fundamentals.
The winner of this award was meticulously selected on the basis of innovativeness, passion for her business, entrepreneurship and impact on the overall industry. The WIL awards ceremony aims to recognize and reward influential Asian women leaders for their outstanding achievements and honor organizations for their initiatives in promoting the development and empowerment of women in society.
Ms. Yang Mian Mian states that the award is a clear indication of Haier’s finest efficiency in management and a guarantee that the company is gaining global recognition as the world’s top quality manufacturer. It is a result of Haier’s global branding strategy that emphasizes on perfecting its quality goods, innovative production, total reliability, and strong corporate operation, as evident in Forbes Magazine’s 2007 ranking of the most trustworthy international companies that puts Haier at the thirteenth among two hundred top enterprises worldwide.

Ms. Yang Mian Mian graduated from Shandong Industrial Institute, which is now known as Shandong University, the People’s Republic of China, in 1963. As one of the founders of the Haier Group, she has been in charge of the overall management of the white goods business since 1984. Ms. Yang is now responsible for determining corporate strategies and overall management of the Group. She is currently the president of Haier Group Corporation (“Haier Corp”) and the chairman of Qingdao Haier Co., Ltd. (a company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange). Ms. Yang is also a director of certain subsidiaries of the Group.
In 2009, Fortune Magazine, USA, one of the world’s most influential financial magazines, published the world’s 50 female entrepreneurs chart (50 female entrepreneurs outside USA) of which Ms. Yang ranked the seventeenth, being the highest ranking among the Chinese women. Ms. Yang has been the third time being elected onto this chart of Fortune Magazine, USA.
