Jedox AG, a leading provider of self-service business intelligence, analytics, and performance management solutions, announced that it has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the Cool Vendors in In-Memory Computing, 2013, report by Gartner.
Jedox believes that a key factor for the "Cool Vendor" designation is its unique in-memory technology: Jedox OLAP Accelerator is capable of increasing the processing speed of traditional in-memory technologies (classic CPU multicore architecture) several times over. Jedox leverages state-of-the-art NVIDIA Tesla graphic cards (GPU technology) with internal memory that can be addressed much more quickly. This technology advantage enables blazing fast reaction times when analyzing extremely large data volumes or planning/simulating large scenarios such as multidimensional aggregations and complex rule calculations. Companies can now do planning, analysis, and reporting in real time.
Jedox' in-memory OLAP engine also enables value adjustments at aggregated levels ("splashing") for business analysis, including planning and forecasting. "Today's business world is characterized by increasingly large data volumes, which raise the bar on technical requirements. Our GPU technology provides a remarkably inexpensive way to meet these challenges because you can easily connect the GPU component to the server. No additional hardware installation is necessary besides the graphics card," explained Jedox CEO Kristian Raue. From Release 5.0 on, Jedox has been available in a free-of-charge BASE version and a fee-based Premium version, which significantly helps jump start implementation of the product.
