Flight Experience Partners With Pan Am International Flight Academy

In a major coup, the Christchurch-based, flight simulator company, Flight Experience, has forged a new business partnership with one of the world’s leading pilot training operators, Pan Am International Flight Academy.

Announced this week, the partnership is a culmination of talks over the last 12 months that will see Flight Experience global stores offering initial Pilot Training and advanced Type Ratings to customers planning to pursue a career in aviation.

Flight Experience, owned by Pacific Simulators 2010 Ltd, is the world leader in a niche industry offering the general public a realistic “big-jet” flying experience piloting a Boeing 737 fixed-base simulator without any previous experience. Aviation enthusiasts as well as experienced pilots seeking refresher training take advantage of these highly realistic, fully-enclosed simulators, boasting high definition visual systems, state-of-the- art command and control, and certifications from many of the civil aviation authorities in their respective regions. Flight Experience has partnered with Pan Am to broaden its training capabilities and better serve customers.

Pan Am International Flight Academy, headquartered in Miami, Florida, has its origins in Pan American World Airways as its original training division, and operates under one of the world’s most recognised brands. The company operates nine training facilities in the U.S. and abroad, providing flight simulation and training on all the leading aircraft types. Its Ab Initio training centre, also in Florida, trains pilots from around the world from the beginning through to ‘airline-ready’.

Iain Pero, Flight Experience’s Director of Sales says, “This partnership is exactly the sort of professional arrangement we were looking for. Our business has its roots in entertainment, but the market for pilot training is huge, and our devices offer a great bridge from general aviation to airline aviation. Over the last few years we have been moving into more professional areas, with our devices being used by airlines, schools and universities.

Flight Experience will now be able to offer customers interested in pursuing a career in aviation a comprehensive Pilot Training track from zero time to First Officer and a Type Rating—training locally at first at a Flight Experience facility, then moving on for extended training with Pan Am in the USA.”

Flight Experience will begin offering private seminars and local scholarships to qualified individuals, customers who ‘fly’ one of their simulators then contract to pursue a commercial pilot license. Operating out of twelve locations across eight countries, Flight Experience is in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Singapore, Paris, Kuwait, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Jakarta.
