Mango Tree On The River offers an authentic Thai culinary journey with a thrilling speedboat dash up the 'River of Kings' from Saphan Thaksin public ferry pier to Mango Tree's new home at Yodpiman Pier

Thai culinary and lifestyle brand Mango Tree Worldwide has bought a boat to bring customers to its waterfront flagship restaurant experience, Mango Tree On The River, in real style.

A far cry from the stodgy and staid wooden ferries favoured by the five star hotels or the jam-packed public ferries, Mango Tree's craft, a twin Mercury powered speedboat in gleaming white, with an orange splash on its Mango Tree flag, oozes style and elegance.

Transport is getting easier in the Thai capital but key roads and junctions can clog all too easily especially at rush hour when diners are trying to get to restaurants. To help make life that little bit easier Mango Tree has bought a boat to bring customers to it and in some comfort and style.

"Our new flagship enjoys a stunning location right on the river at Yodpiman pier, in front of the famous flower market at Pak Klong Talat," said Trevor MacKenzie, Managing Director, Mango Tree & COCA Restaurants Worldwide.

"It's an incredible location, with one of the best views of the Chao Phraya, the famous temples like Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn) and the city skyline. It is spectacular and will be especially so at sunset when we anticipate bringing in diners," Mr MacKenzie said. "At rush hour, the traffic can be barely moving. So diners can drive or catch the skytrain to Saphan Taksin, we'll pick them up at the ferry pier and whisk them down the river in short order and in high style."

The journey from Taksin Pier, one of the biggest and busiest interchanges on the river, to Yodpiman takes about 15 minutes. This is a scheduled service, so walk-in guests can also catch this speedboat to the restaurant although pre-booking is advised.

Mango Tree on the River is a showcase for the leading global Thai restaurant brand, and the realization of its vision to create a true Thai lifestyle destination restaurant.

Located a stone's throw from Bangkok's historic Rattanakosin district, birthplace of the ruling Chakri Dynasty, Mango Tree on the River offers a setting of relaxed elegance in a four-storey building near Bangkok's colourful flower market district, Pak Klong Talat with unforgettable views of the river's most famous temples and Bangkok's dramatic city skyline.

It offers both indoor and al fresco dining, drawing on the four points of Thailand's culinary compass: Northern, North-Eastern, Central and Southern Thai favourites. Some of these are adapted for contemporary tastes or inspired by local and seasonal specialties and use only hormone-free meats and no frozen products.

Mango Tree on the River is more than a Thai restaurant it's a one of a kind culinary destination in its own right.

Guests can watch the sunset whilst sipping innovative cocktails and eating small bites on the third floor before coming down to enjoy modern Thai food in the dining room on the second floor.

The meetings trade is well and flexibly catered too. Not just with the usual equipment meetings and functions need such as microphone, projector, screen and audio system but customs offers for guests fulfilling their requests. Mango Tree on the River can comfortably accommodate up to 400 standing guests over its four floors. The open fourth floor is also ideal for smaller private functions of fifty seating and 100 standing.
