DITP readies for BIFF & BIL 2016, revamping 360 degrees of the Thai fashion industry to become an ASEAN hub

Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) Chanthira Yimrewat Wiwatrat held a joint press conference with representatives of fashion industry trade associations.

She said that Thai entrepreneurs are prepared to debut their latest products in the Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2016 (BIFF & BIL 2016), alongside big names from foreign countries, such as Singapore's David Ong and Japan's Takafumi Tanaka.

Thai entrepreneurs have pushed to develop fashion and leather products to compete in the ASEAN market. As such, they have welcomed government policies to support small and medium enterprises (SME) and position the country as a region hub of the fashion industry.

To this end, the government has been promoting BIFF & BIL 2016 to local fashion entrepreneurs, designers, and SMEs. The event is meant to serve as an international stage to showcase highly creative products exchange knowledge under the theme "Catching the Creative Spirit."

BIFF & BIL 2016 will be held from March 9-13 2016 at Challenger 1-2, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
