ASEAN-WEN LEEO coordinates with dialogue partners to arrest Wildlife and Timber kingpins

Mr.Vatanarak Suranartyuth, Director of ASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network Law Enforcement Extension Office (ASEAN-WEN LEEO) participated at the cooperate meeting with Environmental Police of Vietnam, INTERPOL Vietnam and Royal Thai Police at Hanoi, Vietnam. In this connection, Senior Colonel Vu Duyen Hai, Deputy Head of Environmental Police of Vietnam is the Chairperson of this meeting.

ASEAN-WEN LEEO receives fully support from Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam by participate at the Special Investigation Group: SIG. SIG is the operation conducted by ASEAN-WEN LEEO to support ASEAN Member States and dialogue partners to fight against wildlife crime and arrest kingpins. This operation also cooperate with the resolution of 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime – 10th AMMTC. Security Ministers upgrade Wildlife and Timber Trafficking as a serious transnational organized crime under the purview of the ASEAN Plan of Action to Combat Transnational Crime.

In this connection, ASEAN-WEN LEEO will support intelligence, tactical, modern equipment, analysis program that has been recognized by the United States Military, coordinate with relating countries and financial support.
