ASEAN-WEN LEEO stops illegal wildlife trade in China

Mr.Vatanarak Suranartyuth, Director of ASEAN-WEN Law Enforcement Extension Office (ASEAN-WEN LEEO) organized the cooperate meeting with CITES Management Authority of China and Royal Forestry Department of Thailand and also patrolled wildlife markets in Beijing, China from 9 -13 November 2015. In this connection, Dr.Meng Xianlin, Director General, CITES Management Authority of China is the Chairperson of this meeting.

Operation COBRA is the coordination and countries led approach of law enforcement officials from 62 countries in Africa, Asia, America and Europe (Wildlife Enforcement Network) for the global Operation "codenamed COBRA III", targeting transnational wildlife and forest crime mainly in elephants, rhinos, pangolins, greats apes, big cats, birds, fish, reptiles, timber and other forest products.

In this connection, ASEAN-WEN LEEO will continue supporting intelligence, tactical, modern equipment, analysis program that has been approved by the United States Military, coordinate with relating countries and financial support.
