Each year during the season of goodwill, the leading hotels of Bangkok celebrate the joy of giving by making a donation to a deserving school or foundation dedicated to supporting underprivileged children. This year saw 17 leading hotels make donations to help provide a better and brighter future for children.
A total of Baht 410,000 of the money raised will go to Baan Na Klang School in Buriram to help repair the wooden classroom building, install hand rail for safety, as well as to fix the toilets for children. The Bangkok Post Foundation and the Nation University will also receive Baht 50,000 each.
Furthermore, the Population & Community Development Association (PDA) led by Mechai Viravaidya has also offered to lend a helping hand by offering training for students and parents on the innovative approach in agriculture for rural communities to help increase their knowledge, earn extra income and create a sustainable community. Baht 500,000 has been allocated for this.
The 17 leading Bangkok hotels taking part in this year 'Season's Greetings Gifts for Children' project were Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Dream Hotel Bangkok, Dusit Thani Bangkok, Intercontinental Bangkok, JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, Onyx Hospitality Group, Park Plaza Sukhumvit Hotel, Plaza Athenee Bangkok, Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, The Landmark Bangkok Hotel, The Okura Prestige Bangkok, The Peninsula Bangkok and The Westin Grande Sukhumvit.
