To mark the Chinese lunar New Year 2016, Blue Elephant Cooking School & Restaurant has prepared a remarkable menu of Chinese cuisine inspired dishes to help you and your loved ones celebrate the Year of the Monkey, available for lunch and dinner from Sunday, 7 - 9 February 2016 inclusive.

Each ingredient in the featured menu has been carefully selected by the restaurant's own Founder & Creative Master Chef Nooror Somany Steppe, for the auspicious meaning they have in Chinese culture and tradition.

"Food is the cornerstone of every celebration at the Blue Elephant. So in the spirit of the Chinese Lunar New Year, we have created several dishes that are inspired by the great tradition of Chinese cuisine. Each one carries great significance for bringing joy, prosperity and good luck to people," said Master Chef Nooror.

For instance, the noodles in the "Chicken Sarong" dish with Crispy Chicken wrapped in Egg Noodles are a symbol for longevity.

Fish also carries great importance as the Chinese character for 'prosperity' sounds like the word for 'fish'. Thus, the "Crispy Sea Bass" served with Mango Salad is symbolic of abundance.

Dumplings symbolize ingots of gold, which are also related to wealth and prosperity. In this menu, you can enjoy "Caramelized Pork Hong" in dark Soya Sauce, accompanied by Steamed Dumpling with Salted Egg filling.

And for course a Chinese feast is not complete without the all time favourite dessert "Crispy Banana with Sesame Seed".

The auspicious "Chinese New Year" specialities will be available as an a la carte menu - for lunch and dinner at Blue Elephant Cooking School & Restaurant between Sunday, 7 – 9 February 2016.
