A Spanish Affaire begins at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

Wednesday 11 May 2016 10:15
Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok is proud to present a uniquely Spanish week-long culinary experience, created around a fantastic selection of authentic Iberian tapas, olive oil and the traditional art of ham carving. It is a delightful European food tradition, recreated in Bangkok in true Andalusian style - unpretentious, unhurried, and utterly captivating.

On the evening of Friday the 6th through to Saturday the 14th of May 2016, a full tapas degustation menu and ham-carving presentation will be available at Blue Sky Bar & Restaurant. Juan Ignacio Luque, the tapas chef at Hacienda del Alamo Alabardero, will be exploring all of the possibilities presented by his native Mediterranean cuisine, using seasonal products and fresh, pure flavors. The dishes on offer will include delicacies such as fried eggplant with honey, prawns pil pil, Russian salad, Spanish omelet, avocado and salmon tartar, Iberico ham croquettes, tuna tartar, gazpacho, potatoes with red and green mojo salsa, and that reliable crowd-pleaser, paella. Meanwhile, Miguel Angel Barrionuevo, General Manager and master ham carver, also from Hacienda del Alamo Alabardero, will be slicing up a storm with the finest Spanish meats. As a Spaniard, Miguel Angel knows the qualities of a top-quality ham sourced from his homeland. Over the course of his career, he has mastered the technique of slicing the precious meat to perfection, after it has been slow-cured with great care by Spanish maestros.

On Wednesday the 11th of May 2016, Jose Antonio Fernandez Hidalgo - Sales & Marketing Manager and olive oil sommelier at Tierras de Tavara will be hosting the "Olive Oil Tasting Dinner" at Don Giovanni, the hotel's Italian restaurant. The price is only THB 2,800 net per person for 4-course set dinner. His native area is a treasure trove of some of the word's finest oils, grown nestled in an isolated setting northeast of Jaen (Andalucia).

La Sierra de Segura is heir to a long tradition of olive oil production, going back to 1979, and it is the second oldest in Spain. Recognizing the extreme quality of the company's extra virgin olive oils, the Regulatory Council of the DO Sierra de Segura has endorsed them for world-wide export.
