The Top 3 were selected from a total of 20 submissions who turned up for the Bangkok leg of the Asean-wide designer search auditions. The auditions were held in Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and ended with Bangkok earlier today in search for the Top 3 young designers to represent each country.
This designer search, which has entered its second year-running is part of AirAsia's continuous efforts in developing talents and empowering youth across the region and will be a platform for young aspiring designers across the region to catapult their careers in the fashion industry.
1.Mr. Anurak Jaidee 2. Mr. Supatsorn Tiamsak and 3 Mr. Arrif Jehhwang went through two rounds of judging and were selected based on design creativity and originality, consistency of their collection, adherence to the Asean theme, practicality and stage presentation.
The panel of judges consists of Saxit Pisalasupongs, Creative Director of Tube Gallery by Phisit & Saxit; Montakan Ransibrahmanakul, Editor-in-Chief of Madame FIGARO; Pattra Boosarawongse, Chief Financial Officer of Thai AirAsia; Andrew Tan, Founder of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear and Vivy Yusof, Founder of FashionValet.
Pattra Boosarawongse, Chief Financial Officer of Thai AirAsia said, "We support the region's fashion scene in Asean and we hope to inspire more aspiring designers to pursue a career in the fashion industry. This designer search is a great enabler for our young, up-and-coming talents in Thailand as they are given an opportunity to express their creativity and showcase their collection on a professional runway. The Top 3 representing Thailand at the Grand Finale on the prestigious runway of KL Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2016 will stand a chance to walk away as 'AirAsia's Most Promising Young Designer 2016' and prizes worth at least THB3,000,000 including a confirmed show segment to showcase his or her full collection at KLFW RTW 2017; mentorship from the KLFW RTW team; THB2,1000,000 sponsored by FashionValet to produce a capsule collection and sold on fashionvalet.com; 150,000 AirAsia BIG Points sponsored by AirAsia BIG, AirAsia or AirAsia X flights, and more prizes to be revealed soon.
