CapitaLand's wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has recently organised its first Ascott Charity Run event in Thailand this year. The target of this event is to raise funds for over 500 underprivileged students at the 'Doi Wiangpha Pittaya School' – a remote hill-tribe school in Chiang Rai province.

Ascott Charity Run 2016 is held at the Lumpini Park on Sunday 2nd October 2016. Aside from its staff, management and residents, Ascott also helps creating a healthier community by bringing the locals together to participate in this five-kilometre charity race. Over 600 tickets are sold across eleven of Ascott's properties in Thailand and ten leading consumer products brands also joined hands to help supporting the event.

Doi Wiangpha Pittaya School is a Thai government school located within the Golden Triangle area of Northern Thailand. The school provides education to students from kindergarten up to 9th Grade, with about 50 students living in the school premises.

Ascott Thailand has been supporting Doi Wiangpha Pittaya School since 2014, in collaboration with iCare Thailand Foundation. Each year, volunteers comprised senior management and staff from Ascott and iCare will visit the school to donate funds, refurbish the school's facilities, arrange variety of edutainment activities with the students and also visit some of their families in the nearby villages.

Last year, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), and the Group's philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), organised their first CapitaLand International Volunteer Expedition to Doi Wiangpha Pittaya School. Close to 50 volunteers from CapitaLand, including staff from Thailand as well as various countries such as China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam joined hands to help upgrading the school's exterior and refurbishing the playground. The volunteers also conducted a specially designed lesson, named the "CapitaLand Little Architect Programme", to enable the students at school to learn building construction concepts in a simple, yet fun way.
