Winner of numerous awards - Chef Tammasak Chootong Illuminates Nimitr with his culinary passion bringing Thai cuisine to the forefront of the Asian Gastronomy.

137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok is delighted to welcome Iron Chef Tammasak Chootong, who will enlighten the evening, with his innovative leading-edge gastronomic creations of inspired Thai & Japanese cuisine. He has skillfully blended his menu to create tastes and textures to delight and excite the palette over a six-course dinner using the freshest Japanese food in town Japan

Chef Tammasak Chootong who will be a special chef guest at Nimitr, will be personally presenting and orchestrating a symphony of his distinctively crafted six-course menu with freshly caught air-flown seafood ingredients from Japan including; HOTATEGAI – Deep sea scallops, BOTAN EBI – Large prawns, MIZUDAKO – Large octopus, IKURA – Salmon roe, ROBUSUTA – Lobster, MAKOGAREI – Turbot - White flat fish, KIHADA- MAGURO – Yellow fin tuna and KAKI – Oyster.

The six-course dinner menu is available at THB 4,600 +++ per person and at THB 6,500 +++ per person with wine paring from 16 to 18 June 2017. Guests can arrive in style in 'Louie the London Cab' which has been fully customized for the hotel, with scheduled pick-up times from Promprong Bangkok Sky Train (BTS) Station/Emquartier Shopping area. Prices are subject to applicable service charge and government taxes.

Located on level 27 at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok, Nimitr is an upscale fine dining destination serving Thai Inspired Gastronomic Cuisine. A leading-edge concept offers the highest standards of modern cuisine drawing on Asian and Western inspirations. Nimitr's design is the inspiration of contemporary Asian design in a global metropolis. Premium Northern and Southern hemisphere wines are showcased in the Wine Wall and expertly presented by our 137 Pillars sommeliers. Nimitr's shining and vivid blue combines to calm the senses and create a romantic warmth. The restaurant is open daily for lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Chef Tammasak Chootong?
Originally from Thailand, Tammasak has mastered the art of combining modernized traditional Asian dishes with innovative new culinary creations.

Tammasak graduated with a Master's degree in Kitchen development from the German Ueberkingen culinary school in 1994. In 1999, after five years spent at the Maritim hotel in Stuttgart and the Michelin stared awarded "Top Air" restaurant, he joined a prestigious culinary team aboard the Queen Elisabeth II cruise liner as a demi chef de partie, catering to an exclusive set of 1800 passengers in five fine dining rooms. The following year, he became chef de partie on board the Seaborne Legend before returning to Germany as a sous chef at the award-winning restaurant "Taku".

Upon his return to Thailand at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Phuket, Tammasak developed greater insight into the various aspects of kitchen management as the Executive sous chef of the property.

While achieving professional recognition first as an Acting Executive chef and then as an Executive chef, Tammasak fine-tuned his very own style of Thai cuisine, infusing the traditional Thai dishes of his roots with some distinctive western elements from his time spent in Europe. Tammasak's JW Marriott contributions included creating the Ginja cooking school, opening and refurbishment of an additional nine outlets.

The desire to pursue his very own culinary philosophy led to his departure from the Marriott group and in 2007 he joined Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts as their Corporate Thai Chef. During his tenure, Tammasak developed and implemented the "Saffron" signature Thai Restaurant concept in 10 Banyan Tree properties before becoming an Area Executive chef for the Banyan Tree Bintan Indonesia.

Tammasak then realized a lifelong dream to own his own restaurant. He opened Suay Restaurant in Phuket in 2010 which has fast become a favorite with locals and foreigners alike. Offering innovative contemporary Thai dishes and Western dishes with a twist, Suay has won many awards within 3 years and currently ranking on Trip advisor website No. 1 in Phuket among many restaurants.

In May 2015 chef Tammasak was then appointed to be featuring as Iron Chef Thailand TV show in charge for European cuisine
