Commenting on his newly opened restaurant at the time, Theo Randall said, "Italian food is all about celebrating the ingredients and preparing dishes that allow diners to explore and enjoy a culinary journey in an environment that is fun and relaxed. At Theo Mio, I want to give guests the opportunity to sample some truly exciting dishes."
One year on, Bangkok most discerning diners agree he's accomplished all that and more.
Along with a ground-floor setting offering great views onto one of the city's liveliest downtown districts, the restaurant features an open-kitchen concept allowing guests to view all the culinary action inside as well. Theo Mio menus, meanwhile, have been designed with sharing in mind. Choices include a number of antipasti selections in addition to many other morsels and nibbles including sourdough pizzas with many topping selections. All can be enjoyed at table or in the venue's bar and lounge seating areas.
For main course, diners can look forward to menu highlights such as Carpaccio of Beef Fillet; Fritto Misto with Local Shrimp; Pan-Fried Squid with Fresh Chili; Tagliarini with Brown Shrimp and Artichokes; and Chef Theo's famous Cappeletti di Vitello with Porcini Mushroom Sauce, winner of "Best Restaurant Dish for 2014" as deemed by Tatler magazine in the U.K.
Dining at Theo Mio is further enhanced by an extensive drinks list of aperitifs, signature cocktails, and wines and sparkling wines including Italian vintages and prosecco.
Weekends at Theo Mio feature the restaurant's outstanding Italian Weekend Brunch – a regular culinary event that's anything but everyday. The meal exemplifies Theo Mio's focus on seasonal ingredients and dishes – indeed it's one reason why the restaurant has become such a firm Bangkok favorite. Each weekend brunch features Italian classics such as bruschetta al pomodoro (grilled sourdough bread with tomatoes, basil and olive oil), porchetta (roast pork belly), as well as a pizzas and desserts including tiramisu and lemon tart. Free-flow prosecco in addition to red and white wines, special "Sunkissed" cocktails, soft drinks and mocktails complement a true Italian-style brunch.
