The Okura Prestige Bangkoks Yamazato Restaurant Recognised by Michelin Guide

The hotel's signature Japanese restaurant earns the Michelin Plate distinction in the inaugural edition of the Michelin Guide Bangkok

The management of The Okura Prestige Bangkok is pleased to announce that its Yamazato restaurant has been awarded the Michelin Plate distinction in the inaugural Michelin Guide Bangkok 2017. Yamazato was one of only two Japanese eateries among the 76 restaurants listed in the Michelin Plate category. The restaurant's Yamazato outlet at sister Hotel Okura Amsterdam is the holder of one Michelin star.

At Yamazato in Bangkok, Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara and his team create authentic Japanese cuisine including traditional Kaiseki Ry?ri set menu dishes, outstanding teppanyaki, sushi and sashimi offerings and an extensive à la carte menu.

Commenting on the recognition Mr. Edward E. Snoeks, General Manager of The Okura Prestige Bangkok, said, "To be recognised by the new Michelin Guide Bangkok is a great honour. The signature Japanese restaurant across many Okura hotels and resorts, Yamazato at The Okura Prestige Bangkok earned a spot in BK Magazine's Top Tables Bangkok 2017 and is a regular in the annual Thailand Tatler's Best Restaurants Guide. It is the definitive traditional Japanese restaurant where the quality of each dish is matched only by attention to detail in the preparation and presentation. Chef Shigeru Hagiwara said, "I am very pleased for our team. To receive the acknowledgement of the Michelin Guide shows that we are creating dishes that delight our patrons. Quality of ingredients and service are very important to us and this award will spur us on to greater heights."
