VOILA! CELEBRATES THE 'YEAR OF THE DOG’ WITH CHINESE NEW YEAR GOLDEN WEEK GRAND BUFFET DINNER

Voila! Restaurant at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit hotel celebrates the Year of the Dog with a spectacular buffet banquet featuring an impressive array of popular Chinese and Thai dishes.

This dinner, available from 16 – 21 February, marks China's Spring Festival Golden Week that heralds the arrival of the Year of the Dog.

Two talented guest chefs will be assisting Voila! Executive Chef Mark Haganbach. Khun Chanchai Nongnual has a wealth of experience in preparing speciality Chinese dishes, having worked at a number of quality hotels and restaurants in Bangkok. Chef Chanchai specialises in BBQ wok dishes. Khun Veeravut Ohnrahong is a very experienced Chef de Partie, creating popular dishes for celebration Chinese dinners and banquets. His speciality is hand-made dim sum.

In addition to the extensive selection of traditional, mouth-watering Chinese and Thai dishes the Voila! celebration dinner features a main course of Boston black pepper lobster - cooked to order and served at the table.

Popular Chinese buffet dishes include braised abalone with asparagus and ginger; drunken chicken (cold); stir-friend crab with black pepper; braised duck in tamarind sauce; BBQ pork, Hoi Sin duck, whole roasted suckling pig and steamed baby Barramundi fish.

The Chinese New Year celebrations begin at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit on Friday 16 February with a traditional lion dance The performance starts in the hotel lobby and the dancers will then visit public areas throughout the property.
