INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE AT SOLITAIRE BANGKOK, SUKHUMVIT 11

Solitaire Bangkok on Sukhumvit 11 has been operating for 7 months. We also provide opportunities for students to learn and gain an internship experience and Khun Namwhan is one of them.

Khun Poonyapon Ratchrit or Nong Namwhan made a big decision when she decided to move all the way from the South to Bangkok, Thailand in hopes of getting an internship in the city that never sleeps. "I was so scared, this being my first time living away from home for a longer period" she said.

She realized dreams do come true when she won a beauty contest in her province Stun (South of Thailand) in 2017, having started competing in beauty contests at just 15 years old.

She applied to ten places for her internship feeling more nervous than when she competed in the beauty contests. Upon doing some research on Facebook, it was Solitaire Bangkok that grabbed her attention and in her words she "knew Solitaire Bangkok was the place" for her. She immediately got in touch with the Human Resource Manager, after waiting for some days she got the clearance. She was in!

Now, three months later, she looks back and remembers her first day at Solitaire Bangkok. "I doubted my knowledge and skills regarding whether I could face the real world" she said.

One of the biggest lessons learnt from her days at the hotel she claims is the learning and experience about how the hotel industry works as she is in the 2nd year of Hospitality Management, Faculty of Liberal Arts at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya.

The opportunity to see and meet different people with different personalities from all over the world was also a wild experience. She was training as a customer service at Club Sky Lounge and On the Rocks Bar. She summarized her greatest lesson as "Don't be afraid to take on new challenges and don't be afraid of meeting new people."

She now plans to go back to her hometown in the south and continue her studies after which she hopes to achieve her goals and ambitions. We wish her all the luck and in her own words, "If you've got a DREAM, don't worry too much and work towards it. Just do it!"
