Central Group Hosts Community Products Fair in 4 stores nationwide Target Sales for the events minimum 9 million baht

Central Group continues to promote and develop quality products from local producers in every aspect under the Central Group for our Community Products program Year 7. This features over 2,000 product lines from 140 communities in 49 provinces nationwide, creating total income for communities of over 954 million baht. By the end of 2018, community product promotion will be extended to 160 communities in 55 provinces around Thailand. Total sales of community products through all channels in 2018 are forecast to total 360 million baht.

This is in line with Central Group's target committment to create jobs, occupations, communities and improved quality of life sustainably. Central Group has also joined the Ministry of Commerce to host Central Community Products Fair 2018 to sell over 2,000 quality products from rural villagers and growers at source. The event is being held four times, in Bangkok and the provinces. Sales targets for the events are a minimum 9 million baht. The first event kicks off from 13-17 June, 2018 at the Eden Hall and Central Court on the first floor of Central World. Over 100,000 Thai and foreign visitors are expected.

Pichai Chirathivat, Executive Director at Central Group Co Ltd noted, "Central Group" has organized the Central Group Community Products Fair for 7 years continuously as part of Central Group for our Community Products program. This is part of Central Community Development Volunteers, which is targeted at the sustainable creation of jobs, occupations, communities and better quality of life for Thai villagers and farmers.

"We go in to develop communities in every aspect, from giving technical and vocational knowledge, sponsoring structures such as food processing plants, packing houses and warehousing, to expand production capacity to its full efficiency.

"We also support with marketing strategy and distribution channels. Processed food, organic produce, health and beauty products and GI products are sold through Central Food Hall and Tops. Utensils and decor are sold at Thai Watsadu. Over the seven years of our community products project, Central has assisted a total of 140 communities in 49 provinces covering over 2,000 products, which has created income for communities totaling over 954 million baht."

Not just assisting communities, Central Group is also committed to consumers to shop for quality goods and support Thai communities simultaneously, so it has joined with the Commerce Ministry to host "Talad Chumchon Central : Central Group Community Products Fair2018". Visitors will find over 60 booths from 50 communities who have traveled far, selling over 2,000 product lines, including fresh and dried food, vegetable and fruit produce, utensils and decorations divided into eight interesting product zones as follows: Fresh food and clean organics zone, Tasty of Thailand – sweet and savory Zone, World-renowned Thai textiles Zone, Green is all around Zone, Trendy Gadget Zone, Social media craze Zone, Rare stuff Zone, Merit-making Zone

At the event, besides consumers getting to shop and taste high-quality, safe, organic and rare products, there is also an opportunity to get close to and experience the simple lifestyle of villagers while watching demonstrations of producing and using various community products on a stage every day. There's Cocone Coconut Oil, Saint Beauty Cosmetics, Thai blueberry juice, Yang Na, Pin Phet and Khao Sang Yod rice from Pattalung.

Central's Community Market is being held on four occasions in Bangkok and the provinces. The first event is from 13-17 June 2018 on the Eden space and Central Court on Floor 1 of Central World. The three events which follow are: Central Region from 11-17 July 2018 at the Promotion Hall on Floor 1 of Central Plaza Westgate, and 8-14 August at the Promotion Hall on Floor 1 of Central Plaza Pinklao, and in the Northeast from 30 August to 5 September 2018 at the Promotion Hall on Floor 1 of Central Plaza Nakhon Ratchasima.

All four events of this festival of community products are expected to generate minimum total income for communities of 9 million baht (63% growth on last year), and a minimum of 100,000 visitors.

Central Group is proud to have a part in upgrading the quality of community products and improving villagers' quality of life, while standing shoulder to shoulder with Thai growers to combine knowledge of modern retail with priceless traditional Thai wisdom for Thai products to progress and be ready to go far in global markets.
