Paron School of Art and 'theCOMMONS' inspires Bangkok to Paint Community art project features Thai drag queen 'Pangina Heals' during PRIDE on Thonglor

Paron School of Art's community art project and the third Block Party with famed drag queen 'Pangina Heals', was a huge success at theCOMMONS located in Thonglor Soi 17.

Pan Pan Narkprasert, is best being known by his stage name Pangina Heals, is a female impersonator and an award-winning dancer. He first rose to prominence back in 2014 as the winner of Thailand's first drag completion show T Battle. He recently was a co-host and judge of Drag Race Thailand, the world's first international spin-off of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Paron Mead, Director of Paron School of Art said the event was a golden opportunity to shine a spotlight on a member of society who should be celebrated.

"Pangina Heals may not have the impact that our policy makers do, but through her artistry, her story telling and her humor, she has significantly shifted the axis within the LGBT+ community here.

"June being Pride month, it felt right to celebrate her and the sense of pride and courage that she has evoked in those who have suffered mistreatment because of their gender or sexual identity," Paron added.

Members of theCOMMONS were invited to pick up a paint brush and paint one of 144 tiles that would turn into jigsaw pieces of a greater puzzle. The placement of the final tiles revealed an image Pangina Heals after more than five hours of painting. The event was enjoyed by the young, the old, amateurs and art experts from Paron School of Art and theCOMMONS. Pangina Heals later joined in and demonstrated her very own artistic flair.

There are always great activities and other art related happenings to be discovered at Paron School of Art. Paron warmly welcomes students of all ages and levels. The school is pleased to assist all in enhancing and bringing out their creative talents as it believes art is meant to be fun for everyone.

All are invited to personally visit Paron School of Art (conveniently located on Sukhumvit Soi 26) or inquire about future classes on +66 (0) 89-795-8765 or email [email protected]
