Johnson & Johnson Vision partners Shopee to launch the first ACUVUE Online Store

Johnson & Johnson Vision, the importer of ACUVUE contact lens, adapts its business into the digital world to support Thai consumers' changing behavior, and encourage consumers to protect and maintain their eye health in the long run. The brand has recently announced a partnership with Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, in opening the ACUVUE Official Store on Shopee Mall. This is the first ever contact lens brand in Thailand to operate a new business model 'Connected Commerce' that will connect consumer from online platform to the optical store, which will support their eye health for the long term.

Hence, a number of eye health issues were apparently found among contact lens wearers"

Additionally, the latest survey from Johnson & Johnson Vision found that the 60% of Thai people who have vision corrections needed are able to access to the treatment options. However, there are only 4% of those who have vision problems choose to wear contact lenses to better their eyesight. This ratio is represented 5 times less than in Singapore (19%). Furthermore, the contact lens dropout rate among Thai people after wearing for a year is as higher as 40%. The main reason is because they do not have an accurate understanding of the use of contact lenses or have never been advised by an eye care professional on how to choose the right contact lens for the right vision problem. This shows that the correct understanding and knowledge about contact lenses among Thai people are still relatively low.
