The seminar is part of the ASEAN BAC-Thailand's efforts in driving forward the 2019 theme of "Empowering ASEAN 4.0". One of the main drivers to push forward the ASEAN BAC's theme is the strengthening of digital environment in support of the growth of digital economy. The digital infrastructure is one of the main strategies which promote the development of digital technology for the nation to serve for the benefits in the digital era. The seminar is designed to draw practical, do-able and sustainable solutions from public and private experts and thought leaders who will grace our panel discussions focusing on the importance and to address the need for development of efficient and effective digital infrastructure across ASEAN member states.

In the opening session of the "Digital Infrastructure Seminar", Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, reinforced the government's commitment to a digital future in his Keynote Address by highlighting the importance of the implementation on Thailand's digital transformation and the drive of Thailand's digital economy. The Ministry intends to encourage all sectors to use digital technology to drive the national economy and society within five years. The implementation of digital infrastructure also extends to national laws and policies, improved necessary infrastructure, and upgraded government services.
