Cool down the summer heat with Khao Chae from Thonglor Thai Cuisine
Chef Thomas Vorapol Itthikhanesorn at Thonglor Thai cuisine invites you to try the authentic taste of “Rice soaked in cool water” or “Kao Chae,” a royal Thai dish traced back to the reign of King Rama IV. Meticulously crafted, the rice gets through the cleaning and soaking process for 7 times. The cooked rice will then be infused by cold jasmine water and left overnight with a scented candle to give it the fragrance. It is served with 9 elaborate condiments, one of which is “Garavek Sodsee,” a traditional side dish made by steaming and deep-frying egg-wrapped Chinese sausage and spice-marinated minced pork. Treat yourself to this special summer treat today until 30 June 2020. Two sizes of “Kao-Chae” set are available for delivery right to your home in fancy packaging: a box set for 485 baht and a basket set for 750 baht (please order one day in advance). We are open for takeout and delivery only. To place an order, please call Thonglor Thai Cuisine, Staybridge Suites Bangkok Thonglor at 02-000-4701 or 092-966-2563, visit our website at www.thong-lor.com, or follow our Facebook page, Instagram, and LINE: Thonglor Cuisine.
