Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Continues to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts by Producing and Donating UV-C Sanitizing Devices to 4 Hospitals in Chonburi

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has continued its COVID-19 relief efforts under the initiative 'Mitsubishi Motors Save Doctors, Save Lives, Fight against COVID-19’. On the strength of Production capability, it has expanded the scope of CSR to develop, produce and support 18 units of UV-C Sanitizing Devices to 4 hospitals in Chonburi province to facilitate healthcare operations.

Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said “Chonburi province is the home to our Laemchabang production facility. We have continued our supports to public health and well-being of the local communities by working with the hospitals and address their needs especially in challenging times, brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“Our people have been actively taking their part in any way they possibly can. The in-house developed UV-C Sanitizing Device is another extensive effort to help healthcare professionals tackle COVID-19 outbreak and the spread of future infectious diseases. Playing the role together as a nation, I strongly believe Thailand will maintain the low infections and overcome this hardship.” Mr. Chokki added.

The team at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has worked on the accredited research to design equipment harnessing UV-C light to kill viral particles. The equipment can effectively sterilize used N95 and surgical masks in minutes for safe extended use. This will help ease impact in case of supplies shortage.

Through the initiative “Mitsubishi Motors Save Doctors, Save Lives, Fight against COVID-19”, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand previously donated more than THB 3 million worth of ventilators, personal protective equipment and N95 masks to 6 hospitals in 5 provinces hard-hit by the outbreak.
